sol'dier’s heart: Pathological. See cardiac neurosis, [1895-1900]

car'diac neuro'sis: Pathological, an anxiety reaction characterized by quick fatigue, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, dizziness and other cardiac symptoms, but not caused by disease of the heart. Also called effort syndrome, irritable heart, neurocirculatory asthenia, soldier’s heart.
